Wedding Day At Healey Barn with Amy and Alex

Sparklers, Champagne Spay & Much More...


Some weddings feel like they have their own energy from the moment you walk in and Amy and Alex’s day at Healey Barn had that feeling straight away. There was this lovely mix of excitement, calm and genuine happiness that carried right through from morning to night. Healey Barn is always a beautiful place to work but these two made it feel even more special.

A Morning Full of Laughter

The morning was exactly the kind of atmosphere I love. Nothing rushed, nothing forced, just people enjoying being together. Amy was surrounded by her closest friends and family and the room had that warm buzz that makes the best kind of photos. Alex had the same relaxed vibe going on and you could tell how ready he was for the day to begin.

Healey Barn has a way of settling everyone down. Even when there is a lot happening, the place feels calm. It is one of the reasons I enjoy shooting here so much.


Their Ceremony

Their ceremony was emotional in the simplest and most genuine way. No over the top moments, just two people completely focused on each other. There not a lot of natural light in the barn which creates a lovely mood that suits my style down to the T.


The Kind of Day That Felt Effortless

Once the ceremony was over, the whole day took on this relaxed rhythm. We to a close by wooded area and I do mean close by less than a minute drive. And loved this little spot no posing needed, just them being themselves.

Their guests brought so much life to the day as well. People laughing, hugging, telling stories and filling the barn with a great atmosphere. The speeches were a perfect mix of emotion and humour and the whole room felt connected to them.


Sparklers and a Little Night Time Magic

By the time the evening came around, everyone was fully in celebration mode. We headed outside for sparklers and they were brilliant. Their guests loved every second and Amy and Alex soaked in the moment perfectly. There is something about sparklers at Healey Barn that always feels like the perfect chapter break between the day and the night.

And then came my favourite part of the day.


The Night Time Champagne Spray

Instead of doing the champagne spray earlier, Amy and Alex chose to do it later when it was dark and quiet. It was just the two of them, me and a friend holding my flash. No crowd, no fuss, no audience. Just a fun, messy, completely carefree moment between the two of them.

The night sky, the stone walls of Healey Barn and that burst of champagne in the light made it feel cinematic. They laughed the whole way through it. Those frames are some of my favourites from the entire gallery because of how real they feel.


I loved every minute of this wedding. Amy and Alex are the kind of couple who make everything feel easy and Healey Barn was the perfect place for them. Their day had such a warm, upbeat feel and I came away with a gallery full of moments that tell the story exactly as it felt.

I cannot wait to be back at Healey Barn again.
