Runa Farm Wedding Photographer

Runa Farm, just outside Barnard Castle in County Durham, has become one of my favourite venues to photograph. I've now photographed at least 10 weddings here, from Tom & Sophie's summer celebration to Natalie & James's winter wedding and Natty & Kyle's full on party, and every one has felt different.

What makes Runa Farm special for photos

The Chapel. Polished stone walls and lantern light make for a ceremony that photographs beautifully, warm and intimate whatever the weather.

The Old Barn. Exposed stone and timber, full of character, and brilliant once the dancefloor fills up.

The grounds. Open countryside right on the doorstep, perfect for relaxed couple photos at golden hour without taking you away from your guests for long.

The evening. Sparkler exits here are something else. Have a look at Lauren & Andrew's.

If it rains. Honestly, there are endless options here, but the Chapel is always my first go to. Once the ceremony's over there's no reason for anyone to be back in there, as everything else happens on the other side of the venue, so it's usually the quietest spot for a few relaxed photos of the two of you.

How I work

I photograph weddings in a documentary style, so for most of your day I'm quietly capturing what happens naturally: the laughs, the nerves, the hugs and the chaos. When it's time for family photos or portraits, I keep it quick and relaxed so you can get back to your guests. I've photographed over 250 weddings, so if the weather turns or timings slip, I'll adapt without you noticing.

FAQ

WHAT IS A REASONABLE AMOUNT TO SPEND ON A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?

My full day packages start from £1,795, and half day packages start from £1,195.

HOW LONG IS REASONABLE TO WAIT FOR WEDDING PHOTOS?

Usually 3 to 4 weeks in the quieter months, and 4 to 10 weeks in the busy wedding season. I'll always aim to get your photos to you as soon as I can.

IS 4 HOURS ENOUGH TIME FOR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY?

My half day package covers 4 hours, which is where my packages start, but that only covers part of a wedding day. For full coverage, from getting ready through to the first dance, my full day package covers 10 hours.

WHY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS ARE SO EXPENSIVE?

Equipment is only a small part of this but, the biggest reasons are, experience, a creative eye, the ability to adapt to all lighting and weather conditions, and your experience from enquiry to photos being delivered.
