Thirsk Lodge Barns

A beautiful venue for events and weddings in the centre of North Yorkshire, Thirsk Lodge Barns is a lovely location available for private rental for weddings and gatherings. 

Thirsk Lodge Barns offers a wonderful rural environment with easy access for all of your visitors to nearby lodging and transportation, even though it is just two miles from Thirsk's town centre and surrounded by beautiful countryside.

The Main Bar

This grand old red brick barn is utilised for wedding ceremonies before being transformed into a dance floor for the evening celebration. 

It features a mezzanine that is ideal for readings or singers during the ceremony, for taking a group photo with all of your guests, or even for your DJ to perform in the evening. It also overlooks fields of grass and natural flowers.  Behind the ceremony table, there is a wall of fairy lights that makes the ideal setting for those crucial pictures!

The Bar

The entire wall of this magnificent room opens up to the Courtyard. With exposed beams and pillars and a contemporary copper-topped bar, the area still reflects the original Barns elements but with a more contemporary feel. 

The Dining Room

Our spectacular dining room, which has open trusses, a huge skylight, and a gorgeous wood floor, is suitable for either round tables or long trestle tables, both of which we have.  Here, there is a separate bar and a view of the natural meadow.

The Courtyard

Our patio, with its 200-year-old Spanish olive tree, has a lovely, Mediterranean vibe. It is shaded and receives sun all day, making it the ideal location for pictures, refreshments, or getting some fresh air. For weddings with up to 30 guests, we can also set up for smaller, more private meals in the courtyard. 

Bring your fireworks and marshmallows for the fire pits and giant outdoor games we have available. There is also an open stable area with heaters for some outside seating. Additionally, we have the choice of erecting a pop-up bar here!

My approach to every wedding is, of course, professional, but in a relaxed and fun, enjoyable way. I think that doing so makes everyone feel as at ease and comfortable as possible in front of the camera.

In order to capture both natural and amusing moments as well as the planned photos that assist tell the story of your wedding day, my photography technique mixes traditional and photojournalistic aspects. I always approach every wedding professionally, yet in a fun and approachable way. I believe that accomplishing this helps everyone appear as relaxed and at ease in front of the camera as possible. 

EXPERIENCE

Because I have a lot of experience and have photographed over 100 weddings, I am able to think quickly and adapt to any situation. I am aware that things don't always go according to plan, but please don't let this worry you, I can quickly adapt.

Here are some of the frequently asked questions I get asked about my wedding photography pricing.

How much are your wedding photography packages?

My Option 1 is full-day packages starting from £1,250. I do provide a personalised quote if you need just ask.

Do you do half-a-day packages?

Yes, I do my option 3 for 6 hours but happy to discuss it if less just ask.

How much is your deposit?

My deposit is £300 which will secure your wedding date.

Are travel expenses included?

Travel expenses are included for all North East weddings in my Option 1&2 packages for half a day package this may vary on location.

When is the final payment due?

The final payment is 30 days before your wedding day.

Are you insured as a professional photographer?

I have £5M in public liability insurance and professional insurance.
