A Brilliant Day at The Croft Hotel with Kate and Alex

Some weddings feel like they come full circle and this one definitely did. I first met Kate and Alex at another wedding I photographed where Kate was a bridesmaid and they were both guests. They saw me at work that day, we had a great laugh and when their own wedding came around they got in touch. I always love when that happens because everyone already feels familiar and the day just flows so naturally.

The Croft Hotel is a lovely venue to photograph and this day just had a great feel from the start. The weather did try to catch us out with a little shower but honestly it lasted about ten minutes and it was so light it barely counted. Apart from that it stayed perfect and the whole day had that relaxed, happy vibe you always hope for.

One thing I really appreciated about Kate and Alex is that they wanted to spend as much of their day as possible with their friends and family. No disappearing for hours, no long set ups, just genuine moments with the people they love. We dipped out here and there for quick portraits but kept everything easy and natural. It meant the photos feel like the day actually felt which is always the goal.

We ended things with something a bit different, an editorial style set of photos that they specifically asked for. Kate had this brilliant idea that the final shots should look like a mix of “we are absolutely knackered” and “we’re still cool and having fun”. A bit rough around the edges, full of personality and nothing posed or polished. And honestly I loved it. It suited them perfectly and it was the best way to wrap the day up.

From start to finish it was a proper feel good wedding. Lovely people, a great venue and the easiest atmosphere to be part of. I am so happy they chose me after seeing me in action at their friend’s wedding. Days like this remind me why I love what I do.

I cant wait to come back to The Croft Hotel, and if you like to know my packages, or my availability please dont hesitate to the get in touch!
