Eshott Hall Wedding Photographer By Nick Georgiou

"Invest in good photography, the photos are forever!"(Brides Words)

I loved being the wedding photographer here at Northumberland at the beautiful Eshott Hall for Jamie-Lee and Adam. So where do I start, I know the beginning is probably the best place...

I was at a wedding fair, in Newcastle and this amazing couple come over, yes you guessed it, it was Jamie-Lee, and as soon as we started talking I fell in love with their wedding vision and plans, but as always I was worried when I told them I hadn't photographed Eshott Hall, in Northumberland before. To me, this didn't matter, as a professional wedding photographer should be able to photograph anywhere with no problems and create photos that the couple will love and treasure forever.

It wasn't long until they emailed and asked if we could meet so we did I went to their home in Peterlee, and we just got on which always helps. You can guess where this is leading, and yes they booked me!

Their wedding photographer was so important to them that they booked me very early, which meant I had to wait for 2, whole years until I could capture the amazing wedding they envisioned.

A few months before the wedding we met up again in North Yorkshire and went for a hike, with the beautiful view of Roseberry Topping, this was for their engagement photo shoot, and we had a great time with lots in common the time just flew!

This was the point their closest friends had just had a baby and they gifted them a newborn shoot, from me of course, but I will leave that for another blog!

The Wedding Day

The day finally came after 2 years and it was perfect lots of love laughter and emotion. They were both at  Eshott Hall so we did the groom prep and bride prep, I say we as I had a second photographer that day too.

The first person I met when I arrived was Adam's mum and she was such a great help, I know she would make for a great wedding coordinator if she ever wanted to change careers. Off I went to find Jamie-Lee. This was a first for me, as when I arrived at the bridal prep she handed me over a very thoughtful gift, I should explain one thing we have in common is we love the F1 and I am a Mclaren fan, and the gift was a Mclaren, water bottle which I loved! Thank you again, guys!

With lots of fun, emotion and memories being made, the change from an outdoor wedding to a chapel ceremony didn't bother them, this was down to the good old typical British weather.

This blog could go on and on so instead, I will let the photo do the rest...

A bit about the couple

How did you meet?

Jamie-Lee "We met in 2017 on a dating website! How boring and so 2020!! A few dad jokes from Adam on our first date at an Italian in Roker and the rest is history!"

Occupation?

Jamie-Lee is an optical dispenser for well-known opticians, doing home visits for the elderly and the vulnerable. Adam is an electrician.

Do you have any pets and their names?

"We rescued the biggest dog we could find from Stray Aid in 2018 after living together for a year. Slightly overweight as she'd spent that long in their reception eating biscuits. Willow the Akita, the laziest dog you'll ever meet."

Where are you originally from?

Jamie-Lee is from Seaham originally and moved to Peterlee at the age of 5 with their parents. Adam has Shotton Colliery's blood running through his veins. Living together in Peterlee now.

When, how, who and where did the question get popped?

"So! I was at a baby shower which ended in the pub with the girls on a lovely sunny September night. Adam rang as it was getting late, asking if I wanted to head to Seaham to get a meal and have a walk along the beach. Expecting me to say yes as I NEVER stay out or go to the pub! Just so happened I was having a wail of a time and declined. I stayed in the pub. Little did I know Adam was going to treat me to a lovely meal and propose on the beach at dusk. But Jamie-Lee Stayed in the pub!!! So the next day, Adam had promised I could have my birthday present a month early and he was taking me to Newcastle to get some new running trainers. On the way, he said, "why don't we stop off at Seaham for breaky" So off we went. In the pissing down rain, a ring in his pocket & a now-or-never mindset. My mam died quickly of cancer about 10 years ago, she was my best friend and I've truly had a hard time since. My favourite memory is of us playing at the beach in Seaham when I was younger. I have the coordinates tattooed on my wrist of the spot where she'd sit me down and wipe the sand off my feet with a towel. A very special place in my heart is Seaham beach. Back to the story - Adam said in the car after breakfast, come and show me that place where your mam used to take you... I said "not now man it's cold and raining!!" - Before I could say anymore he pulled the car over and convinced me to get out. We walked down the bank to the promenade and then stood watching some crazy surfers for a few minutes. I said "Right, come on then - I'll race you up the hill" Adam "On one condition..." I turned around and he was down on one knee, in the pissing down rain and wind "Will you Marry Me?" I cried, we hugged, and the end :) .. then went to Newcastle to get my trainers!"

Why did you choose the Venue over all others?

"I cried the entirety of the visit, such beautiful grounds and a dreamy opportunity of an outdoor wedding ceremony. Very us with some history and classic vibes."

Why did you choose me as your photographer?

"You begged me to when I told you I was getting married in the woodland!! Jokes This honestly was the hardest decision of the wedding. I am a huge fan of photography and spent approx 2 months researching and looking for a photography style that suited me. Your work is incredible. In my humble opinion, you are the best in the North East. I know because I've seen them all!!! - You have this incredible talent to spot details and make something so basic look phenomenal. I paid for our friends to have a newborn shoot with you, they took you to their wedding venue to re-create the photos and she cried when she got the prints back. She said they were better than their wedding photography and she said you were lovely. To top it off Nick you're a lovely guy to be around, and an F1 fan too!! What more could we ask for."

You're wedding theme/colours if you have one?
